I will try to post some interesting hands that I play live and on the apps, which the dynamic is quite similar. Usually there is a lot of multiway pots (srp and 3bet) and lots of cold calling. Srp are often 5-6 way + and 3bet pots are usually envolving lots of player too! For example; there is like one or two limps, then someone opens, couple of callers, then a 3bet, a cold call and very often the rest of the people enter the pot. Very few people now what they are doing at plo and they are all degens who wants to bloat pots and flip stacks. So I guess I’ll just tighten my range and play as nutted as possible, stack off on favourable flops and hope I win. On the long term I will make money for sure but it can swing a lot hahaha!

Thanks for the advice, I will look into the play and explains as soon as I finish the cssplo. My preflop game as improved greatly in the last months, but I need to work on my postflop game, I feel I’m leaking a lot in that era.

Sadly there is no live game running anywhere in Quebec due to gouvernment restrictions (well there is no legal game running…😉)

Now a quick update on my progress:

-I continued the live plo masterclass, but I stopped when @jnandez was reviewing hands at high stakes, I just felt it was not what I needed for now.

-I went back to the cssplo that I briefly started and finished the preflop section. Very helpful and well explained by @luuk , I feel my preflop game as improved greatly!

-I also used for the first time the plo trainer, which is an incredible tool!! I didn’t have the chance to try it but now that I understand how it works and what it does I am gonna use it A LOT ( I haven’t done the series on the plo trainer, but it is on my list to really understand all parts of it). I did all the preflop downloads made by @luuk , a couple of time each, redoing my mistakes to make sure I understand every concept.

-I also have been playing a couple of thousands hands of micros zoom to practice what I learnt. Can’t wait to get into the postflop series of cssplo, my red line is horrible hahahaha😅

I will try to finish cssplo before the end of my subscription, after that I am gonna take a month off of plo mastermind (sadly…) to work on my holdem game (I still have a lot to improve in holdem and I want to concentrate at one game at the time and don’t pay two subscription at the same time).

I’ll be back the month after to continue my amazing journey at Pot Limit Omaha. I’ll keep you updated. Please share your opinion on my progress, the choices that I make, or any other subject you wish. Take care! 🙂

Here is a quick update on my progress.

I continued to practice myself, especially preflop, at z10 plo while playing my NLH games in privates clubs on mobile apps. Things have been going very well this month, so I decided to take a shot at the lowest plo games on the clubs(1/2, 0.5/1).

It has been a lot of fun, I might be breaking even or slighty winning so far. Games are soft and they play a lot like live games.(like I mentionned earlier, here in Canada we have very strict restriction about covid and there is no live games running, so all the local live players are playing on private clubs on apps)

I was supposed to continue the crushing micro stakes series but I changed my plan again( plans are made to be adjusted haha). I decided to go for the Live PLO hands series to get some tips on how to play those multiway low fold equity games and I found it quite interesting! I finished it fast and it was defenitly an upgrade to my game.

Now I started the Live PLO Masterclass and I found it even better. @jnandez goes even deeper into the theorics and that just what I needed! I did the Live Theory section today and there is a lot of valuable information there!

I plan to finish it this week and come back the crushing the micros, or maybe begin a series on short stack, I’ll see what happen until then and what parts of my game I would want to work on.

I know propably nobody is following my progress but I do it mostly for myself and to keep track of what I have done so far. And if someone is following this, please comment I would like to hear from you!! 😉

I like the process of learning plo a lot so far! You guys built the site and the courses in a very easy and motivating way to learn the game! I’m having a lot of fun so far and I’m not bored at all.

As for my career as a pro, i’m enjoying it a lot so far. Poker is a real passion for me and even though there is a lot of ups and down I love the freedom that it gives me. I need to work on my game and I am putting a lot more time studying that I used to and it helped my game a lot. With all those ressources like your site being available I have no choice but to use them, because others are using them and I will fall short long term, specially against good players. If you dont know some GTO they will find holes in your game and you won’t be able to beat them. The only way is to outwork them and this is my goal. 😉

Now here is an update on my plo journey:

-I didn’t know where to start and Jnandez said its a good idea to start with the 10 week plo transformation. I did the first two weeks and I found it very motivating, although I already understood that kind of mentality and adopted it. It is always good to have a reminder and it some times can boost your will to power to be motivated like that once in a while (nod to my friend Nietzsche, who I red a lot in my early adult life)

-On the 3rd week when I arrived to the 3bet and 4bet training I realized I had not enough plo experience to continue on this path. I haven’t played that much plo so far and I need more basics like preflop ranges, what you should open from where, what sizing do we use ( do we always open pot pre?), can we flat sb in plo, can we cold call 3bets in plo, etc.(I thought this course was going that way but it seems a little bit too advanced for me)

-So I switched on crushing small stakes plo to see what it looks like and put the 10 weeks on hold for the moment. crushing small stakes is more basic but maybe not quite enough yet for me, tough very interesting and well explained. I did around 10% and looked around in the courses between 2 videos and saw The Launchpad.

-I started the launchpad and it seems to answer a lot of the basic questions I wanted to know, espcially preflop which is the beginning. I like it a lot so far I think I will be able to get through it quite quickly. Like I said I haven’t played that much plo before mainly holdem, and it is was difficult for me to understand what hand is better than what in certain spots and what should you play what should you fold.

-So now my plan is to finish the launchpad (with all the quizzes and everything), then go back to crushing small stakes and finish it, and after do the complete ten weeks. After that I should have good basics in plo. I don”t want any holes in my fundamentals, I want to build my game on solid foundations. It is my plan for now but it can be adjusted, like every plan should. What do you think of it?

This my journey so far. For the past couple weeks here is what I did during my days: I start off by learning and studying with your courses for about 2-4 hours, then I play some zoom plo 10 for about 2h in order to practice, gain some experience and build a sample of hands. After that I play some NLHE for about 6-8 hours on private clubs, in order to make a living. I live in Quebec and the gouvernment is very strict right now during covid. we have curfew from 8 pm to 5 am, so there is no live games anywhere. People play on phone apps like X poker on private clubs and there is not much to do right now so games are quite juicy and there is a lot of action!

But tonight I think I gonna take a couple of hours off, it is the Montreal Canadiens season opener 🙂 I’m gonna take some time of and chill a little bit. I saw @jnandez with a Golden Knights cap in the launchpad, are you a Knights fan? 🙂 If so I wish you a good season, you have a very good team this year and are a Stanley Cup contender!!
