Hello everyone! I already introduced myself in the discord channel, but will do it again here. My name’s Yuri, I’m from Russia, playing poker for like 9 years, or so. Never really get any success yet, used to play NL MTTs and tried to make my living this way for the last 5 years(You don’t really need a lot of money to live in Russia, so it was enough for the most time). In two words, I felt absolutely miserable during downswings and “bad” days (and these happen like 70% of time when you’re playing MTTs with AFS of 2k). Okay, I can weep a lot about MTTs, but it makes no sense 🙂

Nearly 2 months ago I decided to change my direction and finally make a proper transition to PLO cash(which I liked throughout all these years but ended up losing bankroll after bankroll every time I played this game :D).

So now I play PLO10 on GGpoker with 0-2bb/100 winrate, earning some money just trough races and RB, but I feel much better, I have all the motivation to work on my game and hopely achieve my goals(which I’m not yet sure I determined, but I will try to do this now).

So, my vision of my future as a poker player is climbing up the limits as high as I will be able to play and beat the game and working on my game constantly and remain at competitive skill level. I want to travel around the world, see beatiful places, meet interesting people. I believe poker can give me all the freedom I need, and its really fun to play PLO(for most time :)), especially when you start to understand the game more deeply(but I’m on the very surface still, there are a lot of things yet to be discovered).

    The milestones would be:

-Getting the most out of 10wtc and other courses that are recommended in the roadmap firstly (I wonder if it be a good idea to study something simultaneously with 10wtc?)

-Spend at least 10 hours a week reviewing solutions and training situations in which I have the most questions arising (and there are a lot of such situations)

-Grind a lot(can’t decide the right number of hours I want to put in playing, just want to play as much as I can)

-reach at least PLO50 ASAP so I can finally move from my parents and will have some money to spare on my health and well-being firstly(Really want to go to gym, and there are a lot of work for the dentist I have :)).

    – meditate every day, reduce alcohol consumption to drinking on holidays only(now I can afford 2-3 bottles of beer weekly, but I feel its still a lot)

I think there’s something else to add to this list, but I can’t imagine it yet.

Will try to post something here as often as I could.

PS: Sorry for my English 🙂

GL everyone, thanks for reading this 🙂

Welcome once again Yuri to the PLO Mastermind and our community 🙂

As mentioned in Discord it’s great that you’ve been able to get out of a format you weren’t enjoying too much and now begin to play a game that you like it’s definitely much healthier when it comes to the studying and playing as you feel somewhat excited to get better!

How have you been finding the 10 week transformation so far? I’d definitely recommend combining the Crushing Small Stakes PLO course with the 10 week transformation if you are looking for something to study simultaneously as there is a lot in the 10WT that relates to CSSPLO.

Good luck with your goals, and as mentioned on Discord if you ever have any questions or are unsure about something never hesitate to reach out!

    Ash

The 10wt is good, I’m enjoying it so far. It creates a vision how my routines should look like. I’m going a bit faster, finishing 3rd week now, because I have a lot of spare time, and I’m better watch something more useful for me than another movie 🙂 Also, already pretty familiar with hm3 so it took me little time to find out how to work with it. Working on preflop mostly now, looking for some leaks, also some flop cbet/facing cbet situations, grinding that PLO trainer hard, but I feel like I should grind it harder because there are still a lot of things to find out 🙂
