Aiming for the SKY

Hi & Welcome to my progress log.

I am new to the mastermind and currently watching the 10-week transformation video & have to admit, I was a little hesitant to create my own blog here. I thought about it for 2 weeks and decided to give it the best shot. This log will be mostly for me probably, I hope to write here a lot and after that review on it. We will see how will it go. I hope to be also motivated by the progress.

    Something little about me:

    – I am 28, having 2 kids & living in the Czech republic (not the best place to play poker as we only can play on Pokerstars & PartyPoker, and for PP we have very limited options – no leaderboards, very little rakeback (10% starting, 25% maximum)). As the covid situation goes, I am working completely from home – having little more time and I hope I could use it for poker as much as I can. I am also a hug football fan – both passive and active (as a kids coach), but again, now the situation differs with the current covid-19 situation.

    My poker history:

    – I am playing poker for 3 years right now, tried almost all the options, NLH CG, SnG, MTTs, but I always loved PLO the most. Not sure I can express myself in English, but when I am playing PLO, I am being so excited with every hand, feeling it in myself and I am looking forward to play and win every time.

    – I was playing PLO50 & PLO100 2 years ago (around 75k hands), however, I was not following bankroll management and got broke after few months. Its no wonder with almost no off tables work, but I wish to keep that bankroll alive then, cause now I will have to create it again from PLO10.

    .

My biggest CONS (Hope to clear this section up one day):

    – MINDSET – 100% my biggest trouble, as I tend to tilt a lot. I am super excited to see that there is section of Jan’s mindset videos, I hope to find there some tips to calm my mind.

    – Laziness – YES, I could see a poker video, but I could also see an absolute time-wasting youtube content that gives me absolutely nothing right.. No, without joking, I need to put hours to the “off tables work”.

    – Timeline – I need to make some structure to my life – I need to stop wasting valuable time by not knowing what to do and when.

    My biggest PROS:

    – I am 100% honest with myself (and others as well) – so by putting here everything (good and bad) I hope to be able to react and work on those issues in the future as much as possible.

    – I can grind. I can sit to the table and play those 5-6k hands & I hope to even extend the number with the right training – But now I need to pull back a bit to learn how to work off the tables more.

    .

    VISION:

    – I wish to become a professional poker player, playing online PLO200 with reasonable winnings. I would like to live couple of months in several other countries, play poker from there while getting know other places & culture with my family.

My reason why I do it:

    – I want to have the freedom. I want to be able to feed my family with something I love, I want to be able to spend with them any day, hour, minute based on my decision and I want to travel across the world to see some places I never thought I will get to see.

    MILESTONES:

    – Getting from PLO10 to PLO25&PLO50 – lower rake structure (15BB vs. 8BB vs. 4BB cap)

    – Finish 10Week transformation course

    – Post-playing sheet – I would like to mark what was the biggest obstacle for me that day and learn to review on it

    – Spend 1 hour per day with PLO trainer and learn the exact ranges.

    – Put there extra 30 minutes a day to the current issue – either by seeing video or posting hands or working with HM2

    – Learn the shortstack game

    – 1 poker-free extra milestone – loose 8-10 kilos by changing my eating habits (if successful, adding new milestone).

    .

Well and that is it. I would like to a week or two and then review on my first steps as a mastermind member. Lets become a better poker player.
