Hi, guys! My name is Florian. I got acquainted with poker a long time ago. I don’t remember how exactly this happened, but i remember how in 2006 I was printing Doyle Brunson’s “Super System” on my first job after graduating university 🙂
So i got my first bankroll from pokerstrategy.com (50$ which I lost pretty fast playing short stack strategy NLHE microstakes) and afterwards was playing occasionally on weekends microstakes NLHE cash and tournaments.
And once in 2011 i won 2 NLHE tournaments in row and got 3k$. And what I decided? Correct, I decided to build a poker career! But what did I do? One Friday evening in a bad mood I took a bottle of whiskey and went to PLO100 (I have no idea why I came to PLO – didn’t play it before) – and won 1.5 or 2k in the first night 🙂 But guess what happened within 1 week:)
Next episode happened in 2016 – I studied some theory on pokerstategy.com and other internet resources on PLO, deposited 1k$ and started playing PLO25 (this time without whiskey) and lost it again (not as fast as i lost 4,5-5k$ on PLO100, but still fast enough to realize that it’s not my story).
Next time I tried poker in the mid of 2019. This time i went to spins poker school and took it the way more seriously. However, due to the fact that I had to combine it with main job I was not able not invest all my energy in the process, so by the mid of 2021 when i got the job of my dream I quitted poker again. Sometimes good things don’t last long and by the mid of 2022 the company I was working for said “buy-buy” to most of the employees, however, gave a good compensation.
So in the autumn of 2022 I went travelling around Asia (and still travelling). Once I went to Bali and tried surfing for the first time – this was something fantastic, literally the best time in my life. Meanwhile I deposited 100$ and started playing spins on Stars. To my surprise it appeared that knowledge I got from the poker school even after a break was enough to make between 500-1000S monthly playing 5 dollar spins and thus supporting my travel, while showing comparatively good Chip EV for the first few months. However, the weekly challenge was growing and I was increasing the volume accordingly/gave shots to higher stakes and that dropped chip EV drastically. Chasing the volume, I tried flash spins – and that was a catastrophe. I did not lose my bankroll, but now the challenge of Stars became unbeatable and I had a clear understanding that I’m not equipped well enough (neither from the theory, not from the bankroll perspectives) for flash spins.
So I starting looking for a site with bonuses and rake back comparable with Stars. And decided to give a try at GGPoker (PokerOK). Unfortunately, it appeared that on GG they have a sort of mix of regular/flash spins and that was not what I was looking for. However, while clearing honey moon bonus I got mission to play PLO J So we are coming to present days. By the last decade of November 2023 I bought “Mastering Small Staked PLO” by JNadez, deposited 2,5K and started playing PLO25 with shots at PLO50 on Stars and PLO tournaments on PokerOK, while learning. My understanding of the game became deeper, especially the understanding of the logic behind decision making process in high/low SPR’s taking into account positions and corresponding ranges, especially the understanding of bluffing. I really felt the progress. However, I underestimated 2 old enemies – “button clicking” and tilt … again. By 27<sup>th</sup> of December 2023 I lost my entire bankroll.
So far we came to the 01<sup>st</sup> of January 2024. Since 27<sup>th</sup> of December 2023 till today I was thinking over 2 options – come back to spins or to continue with PLO. Pros for spins are clear – at the current moment I’m just better in spins than PLO and I need a way less bankroll than for PLO. Also there is an option to come back to poker school and work on climbing the higher stakes without spending my own money on it. But I took a decision to subscribe to PLO MASTERMIND and continue with PLO. Why? Here we come to the vision (i want to crush mid-high stakes and according to what i understood – competence in 100 spins is a way higher than in PLO100). P.S.: i have 100 buyins of PLO25, (no more bankrolls left), bankroll for 3 months of leaving away from home and 1 month subscription. So as Elvis said “Its now or never”. I think this was the longest post in my life 🙂
Vision: I am a professional poker player who travels the world (especially surfing spots) and crushes mid-high stakes cash and tournaments live and online.
Purposes statement: I’m improving my poker daily, because poker gives me the freedom to live the live I want (travelling and surfing in beautiful places).
Milestones:
I fix my mindset and exclude “button clicking” mode from my game and stop playing at first signs of tilt.
I play at least 5 hours and study at least 2 hours daily 5 days a week and making at least 1 complex of physical exercise daily 5 days a week.
I crush PLO25 with 10bb/100 hands on 100k sample
I crush PLO50 with 10bb/100 hands on 100k sample
I constantly crush PLO100
I win a bracelet in big

Jan. 09. Watched the video of Lokfable about his journey in PLO and started reading Jared Tendler’s “The Mental Game of Poker”. Changed my milestones accordingly:
Milestones 2024:
1. Move from PLO25 to PLO100 in 2024 (fck ego trap 🙂
2. Improve my mental game.
3. Improve preflop game from the GTO perspective and bring it to the level of unconscious competence.
