My name is Kevin and I’ve decided to make goals and dedicate myself to PLO. I played NLHE for about 10 years but never took it too seriously. A winner in low limit live cash games but a losing online player due mainly to tilt and lack of work ethic to dedicate myself to consistent and meaningful study habits. I’ve shown early success in PLO by making a final table in a sizable tournament and have booked a few wins in cash games.
Vision:
I’m a successful part time professional PLO and poker player. It is a profitable side income for my family that takes pressure off of my career and has the opportunity to become my main source of income. I am confident in my abilities to play and compete with some of the best players because I have put in the work and have a solid fundamental understanding of PLO.
Purpose:
I study daily while actively taking notes and applying myself to learning the nuances of PLO. I am a student of the game and have the resources to become a full-time professional player. It is a great opportunity to provide for my family and have the freedom and flexibility to spend more time with them. I have the ability to become a strong mid stakes player with applied dedication.
Milestones:
I am a solid winner at the live 1/2 PLO cash game at my casino.
I am a regular at the 5/5 game and take shots at 5/10.
I have finished top 3 at a major low stakes buy-in PLO tournament.
I have won a major low/mid stakes buy-in PLO tournament.

Good start. I have no live PLO in Denmark at all. Would be nice.
Contemplation points I thought of while reading your goals (it develops my thought process too !):
– Do you need to be able to compete against strong players ? Should you have that as a goal in itself ?
– Do you give yourself free time to relax ? Will you punish yourself mentally, if you can’t study every day because of this goal ?
– What is the consequence of not meeting the expected, very concrete milestone results in tournaments ?
– Is not having any deadlines good for you or not? Will you be more or less focused with or without a deadline ?
– If you have a deadline, will it have a negative impact on you as a stress factor, if you don’t reach your goals, or will it act as a study booster and a good time for evaluation and goal reassignment point in time ?
– Is it good or bad to focus on both cash games and tournaments at the same time ?
