I was thinking about to 3bet but after a check in discord it’s a good call. I also just called because this player is a really good strong/lag type. Not enough sample from this opponent but it looks good with 25%/16%/3.7% stats (vpip/pfr/3b)

    Coldcall hero CO
    Q♦ J♣ K♣ Q♠

otf, I expected a Cbet and he is doing this tighter oop then he does IP.
Because there is A♣ and we holding K♣ fd we can call here.

That the opponent here lead with potsize could also mean an protecting bet?

I was thinking about to raise. I mean, our equity looks better here and better equity means also +EV. So raise is the best play here?

Turn: Because he is a good strong/lag player, I don’t think he is betting here with a potential FH.

Because turn paired the board my equity decreased, right? I think check is the best play

Now the river is. I find it very interesting that opponent checks here. (as I said I don’t have much played hands, around 200).

I mean if opponent beat me with an FH, he would bet 100% for value

This means his range would be midpair 88xx-TTxx.Maybe some ♣♣ draw?

I was thinking about this and decide to bet.

And I know this means turning my hand into a bluff hand but I was also thinking that a checkback could make my hand very weak.

How did I played this hand? And how does my think process look like?

I try to improve myself in various areas 🙂

Thanks in advance for your help

oppo doesn’t lead OTF he check calls you. With you blocking the FDs he is very likely to have an A here especially RFI UTG. check OTT is fine but i think you should just give up as he called your bet OTF and is likely to call a river bet too as the board doesnt change much. Your check OTT caps your range aswell and makes it more unlikely that you have a FH. If oppo had a draw your hand still has showdown value so i would prefer a check back OTR. (what better hands you think will he fold to a bet ? certainly an A will call. the only better hand which has you beat which might fold is KKxx which probably would have folded OTF …)

      Thanks.

Oh my bad, yeah he x/c, I assume this play is probably fine.

OTT: I didn’t realize that my checkback capped my range. I just thought I have to keep the opponent in the hand with my very likely FH 77722.

But it just mean (for the opponent) that I was drawing for FD with clubs, So my thoughts on the river should be actually OTT? I mean I should bluff bet OTT instead OTR ?

That sounds interesting and I think this only is possible when the opponent x/c flop and x turn again.

otr: His play x/c, x , and then again x.. This made me think that he doesn’t have A in the range I was hoping to get him fold a better hand like KKxx. Misread.

oh and if he would have cbet potsize i think this is a very marginal call as we fold on the most turns. You still have to give him AAxx type of hands. if you raise there and stack off vs AAxx you are in bad shape 30-40% if you lucky and he doesnt have FD blockers with it for example. even vs a Axxx hand you might have only 50% equity

      Thanks. 👍

tbh I was thinking about calling and giving up on the turn but now I read this and it’s just a -EV play in the long run.
