    Hey community

My name is Simon, I’m 30 years old and i’m from Switzerland. I play poker since about 10 years and take it more serious since 6 years. Back in 2014 I was trying to make a living out of NLH SNG’s, which unfortunately failed. After that, I grew up an insurance business with a friend, which gave us an ok income for the last years but is now starting to die because of some new regulations. I was playing PLO and some NLH CG’s for the last years in live games and since Corona started on chinese app’s. I would name myself semi-professional player for the last 5 years as I made 20k a year on average. Now I’m at a point where I need to find a job or go for fulltime poker. I clearly wanna go for fulltime poker and that’s why i’m here at the beginning of the 10 week plo transformation.

My biggest issue always was my own laziness and that I wasn’t able to structure my poker studies well. I hope that I’m able to change that from now on and implement a new work ethic. I’m pretty sure plomastermind is the right tool to make that happen as it makes a very good first impression. I studied quit a bit with plotrainer and I think this tool is very powerfull and can help me a lot. It’s the first time in my poker career that I have a clear idea how I can get better very efficiently. We also have a study group with 4 ppl. on more or less the same level and we have a studysession once a week.

I will spend all my time for one year from now on with poker. I will play 3 sessions a week on average live poker in a local casino to make some money and because I enjoy live poker a lot. The rest of the time I will try to get better and grind my way up online.

A key point for me is to continue live healthier. I stopped smoking 1.5 years ago and started with sport twice a week at beginning fo 2021. This goes pretty well and I feel a lot better just after 4 months. My next goal is to change my nutrition habits which seems to be the hardest part for me.

Vision: I’m a professional poker player who travels the world and plays mid-high stakes PLO Cashgames Live and Online. (I stole it from the JNandez video, it fits me perfect:))

Purpose statement: I play poker because it gives me the chance to make a living out of my favourite occupation. Poker allows me to travel a lot and work whenever and whereever I want which means freedom and happiness to me.

    Milestones:

    – Beating at least PLO200 online over a large sample with 5bb / 100

    – Hustle for the next years and spend 60 hours a week with poker.

    – Traveling to Vegas for the first time and playing at least two months of live cashgames

    – Reaching financial freedom with a 7 figure net worth

    let’s do it!!

    hey,

just a quick update. I’m at the end of week 3 of the plo transformation and i’m making pretty nice progress. I work 1h+ per day with plotrainer and learning preflop ranges. It’s a bit unfortunate that the serie was produced pre plotrainer and when JNandez played with HUD at stars. For me, it’s a lot easier to learn the ranges with plotrainer than with the handcharts etc.. I’m also reading part 1 of the mental game of poker, seems to be valueable.

I didn’t play one hand on GG. I follow the tip of JNandez and will have a theory play balance of 80/20 at the beginning. I’m planing to play a first session next week to record it and review it. I will start at plo25 with 870$. BRM will not be a problem as I can deposit from my savings if I go broke.

Good luck Simon. I just started the 10 week transformation yesterday so I’m still in the first week. so I wanted to see how others have done who started before me on this path.

      again good luck, Steve

      Hey Steve

Thank you, I will check out your blog too and I wish you good luck.

I’m at the end of week 5 and I enjoy it, it’s nice to be bad at something as you can make very fast and big progress😅 I began to play on GG and played 20 hrs+ I would think. I’m at 970$ atm including 33c$ from the leaderboard. I’m close to clear the 60$ fishbuffet. I will establish a BR count here in the blog just to make it little more interesting for the viewers. I need to focus again more on the theory and not so much on playing, that’s hard for me because I enjoy playing a lot more than making content.

As I mentioned before we have a content group of 4 ppl and we had a 7 hour live workshop last saturday. We did concentrate on preflop ranges and especially dived deep into ep opening range. It was very very helpful and it was more efficient for me than learning on my own. Unfortunately they don’t have as much time for poker as I have and because of that I still have to do most of the work on my own.

      GG BR count: 970$
