    hey all

My name is Ron. I’m a 29yo from Israel

playing NLHE MTT for couples of years, but with a full time job it started to be pretty difficult to grind and keep getting better. I wasn’t good enough for quitting my job and focus on poker.

I decided to start a journey as PLO player because I think this game is very challenging your mind and mentality. it’s less solved as NLHE, and I hope that will contains less bots and cheaters.

starting bankroll – 6k. will playing 10PLO on GGpoker and after getting some knowledge and expirience will try to crush the 25PLO

this log will be my place to record each step in my journey, it’s really important for me to remember where was my start point, and what i’ve achieved after some hard work.

Vision – I’m an Online semi pro poker player (have only a part time job which is not poker) who crushes the lowstakes and try to compete and overcome the midstakes.

Prupose – I play and study poker because it challenges me every single day. I like the competition and have a greater passion to the game than any other job. becoming a strong profitable player will bring me freedom, and opportunity to invest time in other fields that important to me, which I can’t right now with a 45h full time job

Milestones – it’s going to be a long journey 🙂 I don’t know right now which winrate is make sense and good enough, so my milestones for the short-mid term will be:

    – get out of the Micros (that means become a good profitable reg of the 50PLO online games and start playing 100PLO)

    – study at least 120-180h in the upcoming 3 months (which means avg of 10-15h per week

    – cut my full-time job to a part-time job (will happen after I gain enough knowledge and skill to make decent income from poker)

-imporving my diet – get to 80Kg (right now 86 and 1.86 height)

will probably update this log once a week. glgl

    goals for the upcoming week:

    – continue study hard

    – work on my diet and do some workouts

It’s really tempting but I’m not going to play this week also. after finishing the upcoming week, will start to implement my sutdy 🙂

    thanks @sales701 and @adelaney !

    some week no. 2 stats:

study: 9.6 hours (less then 10 which is okish for this week, but definitely will try harder in the following weeks)

    grind: 4.5 hours

it was a pretty busy week, but still managed to find some time for poker 🙂

1k hands of PLO 25 on GG was played yesterday. pretty exciting! I love the rythem and the complex of the game.it was hard but a lot of fun. maybe it’s a mix between a new genre of poker for me and playing after having 2 weeks of break.

as it was my first session, I learned the no. of table I feel comfortable play simultaneously. really payed attention on taking breaks and put some notes and tags. ran pretty good and won 5BI – nice starting point but not such important. there are so much to learn and I’m going to work hard for improving my game and build the knowledge for crushing.

I finished the section of preflop in the 10W course, and most of it in the crushing small stakes. next week will continue to the postflop section, and plan a 1-2h stuy session for work on spesific preflop range.

I didn’t put some work on diet and workouts. should try harder.

last thing to mention – I started reading robin sharma’s book “the 5AM club” and was totally astonished. really inspiring book – made me think a lot about poker and goals in general. while reading I thought a lot about my current role model – our NBA player Deni Avdija. If you want to chase your dream and be a thing – you should put a lot of effort consistently.

have a great week all and gl in and out of tables!

end of week no 3, the weakest so far.

it’s was a pretty busy week, unfortunately didn’t have enough time to put in poker

    – 8h on study – end week no. 5 of 10w transformation and the preflop section of CSS. putted an hour of study on plo trainer – pretty awsome and super valuble tool!

-another 1k hands session on 25PLO on GG (3-4 tabling, around 4 hours with breaks). felt better then the last one and another week of hot run (profit of 5BI)

also finished the Robin Sharma “5AM club” – really awsome book and I super recommand to read it!

started reading “the mental game of poker part 1”, I’m sure it will be interesting and helpful.

have a great and crushing week guys!

end of week no. 4, new low

another busy week and I felt really out of energy.

    – 7.5h study – near to end week no. 6 of the 10w transformation. really nice content

    – 4h grinding – tried to split it into 2 short sessions (one after work) – it didn’t go so well. felt so tired and played almost on my C game. still exploring the right grind schedule for me.

after 1 month I feel that I learned a lot about this game, but there’s so much work to do.

it’s not easy to find time for poker, so I guess the process wil be a bit slowly but it will be fine.

really look for this week, must put more time studying the game and hit at least 10h of study.

tonigh I play the 2nd day of the mini main + sat to the 400$ main event. after that will focus only on cash

    a quick update

I started to struggle in my journey for the last 2 weeks. didn’t put work at all – even on tables.

I think that I pushed myself a little to hard with my goals. instead for create a healthy pressure to get better – I demotive myself.

for now on, instead to aim to X amount of hours, I make a shift in my mindset and try to make the study to a routine – get better every single day.

    some new rules:

    – try to study at least 30 minutes a day.

    – most of my study sessions will be after working. must take a break before start studying

    – if I feel overwhelmed, I can take a day off

    – keep watching the 10w & css videos, but each 2 weeks will have a diffrent subject to cover in deep learning & plo trainer. I’ll start from preflop.

    – instead of 1 long session, I’ll try to split into 2-3 short sessions to feel my progress and get a bit of motivate

    new milestones:

    – 7 consecutive study sessions

    -14 consecutive study sessions

    -21 consecutive study sessions

    -28 consecutive study sessions

    – total 100h of study

    – total 500h of study

    – total 1000h of study

    – continue to 50PLO

    – continue to 100PLO

    – continue to 200PLO

will start this routine from tommorow. let’s crush it!
