Small introduction of myself. Im 34 years old. Ive been playing poker since i was arround 14. Starting with limit poker online and live moving into NL and by the time i was 18 i made a decent living playing nl, mostly 6h , some HU some tournaments. I tried study and playing but since i was traveling i couldnt manage studies so i quite. I was traveling for some time before slowly starting to get tired of playing late games, long and the swings. So i took a break. I met my wife and i started a regular job, she got pregnant and jumping ahead of time i now have a great job 2 kids and still togehter with the wife. Very standard life but maybe last 3 4 years i came back to poker mostly playing live 1 – 2 euro games.

Rake in my live games are pretty high 5% up to 15 € so this hobby of mine and my goal was always just to try not to spend money but have a social time and if i earned any great but it would always go into whatever we had to invest in as a family( house improvements and so on.) Ive played both hold em, omaha 4 and 5 cards each game with decent sucsess and feel that i manage all games on a decent level.

Now ive decided to try break a bit out of the cycle, my diet havnt been as good and sleeping habits etc. have been bad at times. I want to restart excersice, read up on mental training, already started with the app that was recomended in the course and started reading (soundsbook) The mental game 2. I want to get into playing more online to build up a pure poker bankroll which i can use both on net but also live.

Long wall of text but wanted to explain the situation which also will help me when i look back to this post. I have arround 2k euros in starting bankroll but i will probably start lower than my bankroll states to get some volum into huds and see how my winrate etc is now. I am now done with my first week of the course and havnt played after starting as i want to do it right.

So here are my current goals

    1) Drink 1 L of water every day

    2) Go to the gym atleast 2 time every week

    3) I will focus on my sleepinghabits sleeping atleast 7 h and not go to bed after 01 on a normal workday.

    4) I will study and follow the course for atleast 2 hours everyday

    5) I will start meditating 10 minutes each day

    6) I will start eating more healthy and plan meals better

    7) I will strive to improve quality in my pokergame over quantity

    1) Milestone: Finish the course

    2) Be profitable . positive EV

    3) Make it possible to travel with the earned money from poker.

I will update this every sunday to see my own progress.

Edit:17/08 Will start to edit instead to keep it more tidy and more consistent.

So water consumption up to a new high, makes me feel good. as ive mostly lived on soda, now i drink alot of water had 1 day were i drank only water from 7 in the morning until 8 in the evning.
Poker wise strangest thing happened, i was sitting playing on my mobile all in or fold and just happened to hit royal flush jackpot increasing bankroll by 500 $. My roll increased to over 1100 making it possible for me to take

some shots at 010 025 my winrate is improving again since i cut down on tables and time and focused more on my plays.
    After 25k hands 178 net won. 4,35 bb/100 25 vpip 3bet 7,63 pfr 17,6.
IM done with week 5 but this was a hard study week, think i will have to go thru videos and quizzes more. Alot of concepts regarding IP and OOP i got main point but its advanced. Atleast now i have a higher database of hands to get back to in HM3.
Looking forward to diving into my pfr training now again to see how ive improved in each position and what leaks i have to fix.
Think atm my SB play preflop is the highest leak as im quite sure whats good enough to call.

Also i lack alot of stats on players since its GG network so alot of notes on some players but feel like i cant use all the info i should have like how much they 3 bet etc. makes me to some light calls pre or tight folds sometimes i think. Maybe not 4betting enough etc.

@jnandez would love your input on how you adapt to not having alot of theese stats while playing on gg. Since i like the client decent rakeback and good looking, think star sucks comparing RB, betfair didnt look so good and partypoker had noone playing at my stakes.

Playing arround 2 – 6 hours each day.

    Study 2 – 4 courses each day

1 hour deep training 3 times a week.

Good luck on your journey Kenneth! I read a lot of good intentions, don’t let u overwhelm by all of them. Focus on 1 area is often better than try to achieve all those goals.

Ok so first week its on its way, its good to have something to report back to, ive listened thru The mental game of poker 2 one time already. And have started a 2nd time. I am on day 4 on primed mind “better habbits” and find it to be interesting. I have only played on my phone app (pokerrrrr2) for now with nice sucsess. This is just a bonus for me as i feel its too good of value not to play so i do it in small periods here and there.

Ive been playing two live sessions since last time just no limit hold em with a 1 day 850€ + session and – 600 € session. decent sucsess huge ev + as i got in with qq against 88 preflop in a 680 € pot last time. all in all live is going decent but since i have some travels distance i want to move more over to internett and app.

So now i am on week 2.4 course HM 3 manager course trying to figure out if i should start getting some volume in, which site to use or sites. Were to get the most rakebacks, value and so on.

I havnt been able to attain my goals but ive moved closer. I drink 1 – 2 glass of water everyday now which is for me a step in the right direction. Ive went to the gym 1 time but also exercised 1 more time. Ive slept according to plans. I have studied alot more than anticipated as ive read thru TMGP2 also started week 2 of the course. I have meditated 10 min every day. Me and my wife have a plan ready for our eating habbits.
I have played focus and tried to maximized my app time spent.

All in all im happy with my progress but i will strive to achive better in week 2. Looking forward to updating next week.

    Hey Kenneth,

Great to have you on board here in the Mastermind. Looking forward for more updates on your end.

How did you come up with 1L of water a day? I would recommend you up that right away to at least 3L, better 4. The more you drink, the easier it gets to get used to it as well. When you wake up in the morning, just drink 0.5L right away, to hydrate your body and wake yourself up.

Looking forward for continous progress 😉

    Good luck

Hey @JNandez 1 l is too little overall i know that but having drink almost exclusively soda for 15 years this is a goal i feel i might be able to reach within 1 months time and if i get there it is easier to aim for the normal ammount 🙂 But i am trying to change the habbit to drink water every day when i wake up. Thanks for good advice and ill keep the update going.

Glad to hear the few sessions you’ve put in have gone well so far Kenneth.

Regarding best sites to use where you’ll obtain the most rakeback, value etc i’ll tag @TomSmeets he is our affiliate manager and will be able to guide you to the best sites to play on that meet your needs!

As Fernando mentioned i’d try to up the intake on water, as someone who does not and has never drank anything such as coffee I drink around 0.5-1l of water pretty much as I wake up each day to energise me for the start of my day. I on average probably drink around 4-4.5l per day.

Glad to see you’re feeling progress being made though, keep it up 🙂

    Ok weekly report incoming.

Ive been finally started playing online. Just like 1000 hands trying to get some stats going, feel like its necsesary to get a better understanding following videoes and doing quizzes with more.

Im currently into mid week3. Ive read thru mental game of poker 2 times. Great book!

Ive been meditating 3 – 4 times each week, will try to do it every day next week. Water consuption is improving still a far way to go. Family has been away so diet has been pretty bad. Have been working alot each day also played alot live which huge plus this week, so happy with that.

Next week i will stay home alot more will focus on getting maybe like arround 5000 hands to get better sample sizes.

Ive will continue watching alot more minutes, diet should improve next week as wife is here and work is more normal.

I feel like theres a long way to go to grasp the full understanding about most concepts but im closing in on understanding more about preflop play and EP.

    My stats on gg poker on mikro is 271 hands 3,5 bb/100 vpip 27 PFR 20,6 3Bet 12,5 Early RFI 29,4 middle 20 CO 17,2, Button 39,1 SB 43,8 Flop cbet 65 turn 33.

Just as a reference point for further notice.

    Thanks for the update Kenneth,

PATIENCE 🙂 You’re on the right path, just keep a steady routine. Learning, playing and repeating. It won’t happen over night, but you will get closer and closer each day by 1%.

Thank @jnandez i am. I feel good feel like i am doing things right and i am ready to grind it out for a long time.

Update from last week. Water intake is steady, and eating habits are pretty great atm. Now i got to focus on getting a bit exercise in every week. and increasing how much water i drink compared to soda.

Poker wise ive been playing alot live mostly hold em some omaha with good results but as it takes alot of time both driving there and playing aswell as rake is waaay to high ive decided yesterday was my last live session for quite some time. I am going to focus more on study next week as i have for now hit 9.2k hands on GGpoker. Was trying to increase rakeback getting some of the wsop leaderboards tickets but its too heavy of a grind so i am thinking swithcing over to partypoker for the flat 40 % rakeback. Honeymoon misions are imposible at the end as far as ive heard, winning tournaments / jackpots so on. and the fish buffet is maybe at arround 30 % atm.

Not sure how much this matters but i am trying to maximaze value to build my bankroll faster.

My HEM for the 9k stats looks decent i guess but since my knowledge isnt great regarding proper analyse its hard to know for sure. Ive been looking into pokercraft and my run is pretty poor im between no luck and worst run. I am running every pot with no insurrance and never more than 1 time. Since i heard it fucks a bit up with stats and so on. Also i dont mind the variance too much as long as i am making progress. ALLin EV on pokercraft is 240 Winloss at 100. But i am happy i am just building bankroll slowly. Today i am down like 5 buy ins which is just variance and no problem. So for the rest of the day i wil go thru main points of week 2 and 3 writing thoughts down making ready to go into week 4 next week.

Next weeks goal: Finish week 2 and 3 with proper study session; atleast 1 each day. Play for 1 hours 2 times every day. 3 glasses of water, eat smart and exercise 2 times. See you all next sunday.

OK im back just short update this time. I almost didnt play last week just a few short but focused session here and there felt super good about them. Did not play any live poker. Just had a lot of work and choose to restudy the first few weeks and go thru more hands in HM 3.

Did not drink enough water but slowly getting there. Exericised some but not enough still work in progress.

All in all its a good week looking forward to keep getting back into more study now and keep progressing. also watched alot of the streams and trying to learn what i can there.
