From 50PLO to 500PLO in one year

    Thanks!

Last week though wasn’t as successful. I played a bit more but yet again faced a pretty big downswing. But still I am satisfied at my week as I managed to grind through the wort part of the downswing and managed to end the week on a positive note.

Grinding full time has gone well so far. I am happy with the volume, but studying is still lacking a bit. It’s quite hard to find a good rhythm with study and play balance. I’m playing good volume, but it probably would be better to play a bit less and study more.

I’m still playing mostly RC games at gg. Last week I played about 9,5k hands there and 2,5k hands at reg tables. The reg tables are still softer, but I prefer the way I can choose my schedule with longer breaks and the leaderboards are massive at RC tables. I won 210usd from them last week playing about 9,5k hands so that is 4,5bb/100 more from the leaderboards. That is massive. I am not too sure yet which one is better, RC or reg, but I will continue with this set up for a few weeks atleast

    Next week

I’m going to play 15k hands next week and also a few tourneys of the omaholic series. Interesting to see how those tourneys will go.

I’m still studying week 6 of 10wt, but I will finish it this week and will continue to week 7 after. I’m planning on incorporating CCSPLO courses videos and also mental game videos. Especially mental game fundamentals will be important to dive deep into.

I still have problems during downswings feeling like I cant win. I start to doubt my skills and I can feel that my focus is lacking during that time. This week I had these feelings a few times but I was mostly able to focus even with them, but I would rather not have these doubts at all or at least as little as possible. Usually downswings are mostly variance but playing worse has impacted my downswings negatively basically every time. So this will be something that I will put extra focus on.

Here are the graphs for this week, since march and since the start of the year. So ev profit for this year is -387usd and I’ve gotten 2204usd rakeback so ev profit after rakeback for the year has been 1817 which is about 6bb/100 over 60k hands and at 50PLO. That’s nice, but lets get the evbb/100 before rakeback over 0!

GL everyone on your games!! 💰

Another week of grinding done and feeling gooddd!

Managed to run deep in 3 tourneys, one omaholic and two party tourneys and profited 3,7k in tourneys this week. Man they feel soft and juicy. I’ve seen so many ICM punts near bubbles and final tables. Satellites have been very profitable as well. I spotted and played many sats that had significant overlay and in them people seem to do even more massive ICM punts. The bubble spot in them is so so important to play correctly and I have seen some scenarios where two large stacks get all in and other one busts just before the money.

I got in to a party 215usd PKO with one sat and managed to finish fourth in that. Other big scores where from a omaholic 52,5 bounty and a turbo vanilla 16,5usd that I managed to win. ICM punts where made everywhere. Looking forward to playing more of these.

Cash games didn’t go so well this week. I have been on a bit of a downswing here for a few weeks. I think I have played too many tables focusing on leaderboards more then actually winning the games and thats why my blue line is sinking so hard while red line is up. When I don’t focus enough I tend to bluff too light and call of too light. I feel much better about my game playing less tables and focusing on my game. This week I am planning on playing more reg tables and overall less tables while playing

    This week

I’m playing 12k hands this week and at least half will be on reg tables. I will continue studying the 10wt but I will dive in to tournament strategy too. I have also began dabbling with short stacking again so I will put some of my energy towards that.

I was thinking of updating this daily on my games and studies. That way I could get some more accountability for my progress.

GL everyone on games this week! 💰

Well didn’t update yesterday but better now then never🙂. Games have gone well so far. I’ve been short stacking on rush and ps zoom and played reg tables on both sites too. Still learning short stacking but I am starting to get confident with it. Reg games are going great with exploits on point. I’ve played 4,5k hands so far this week. Planning on playing 2,5k hands tomorrow.

Studying has gone well too. I’ve trained about 1k preflop hands per day on plo trainer. Trying to learn short stacking ranges better. I’ve also finished the 10wt week 6 finally. Going to start on week 7 and short stack boot camp postflop section tomorrow and will continue the plo trainer habit.

    Steady progress💰

Ok so I was supposed to post here last thursday but then I missed it that day and went to see my family for easter so I wasn’t in the mood to post for a while. Back at it now!

    March

March was the first month of proper full time playing and studying that I have done. It felt great most of the way trough. I played 45k hands and almost hit my volume target of 50k, but I am very happy with it as I played tourneys on 3 days and without them I would have hit the target.

And oh boy did those tourneys go well. I played on 3 days a total of 50 tourneys and managed to score two over 1k cashes. I ended up about 3,5k up in them. PLO tourneys and satellites where extremely soft especially during ICM sensitive spots. Fernando’s ICM tourney videos really opened my eyes to ICM adjustments and the lack of them in population. I’m going to play more tourneys whenever it fits my schedule well.

Cash games on the other hand went kinda meh. I got absolutely crushed in GG rush games but then won pretty well in reg games. I’m not totally sure whats up with my results from those rush games. Probably I ran bad but at the same time I totally punted off some stacks. Most likely the biggest problem was overbluffing way too much while playing a lot of tables. I think that chasing the leaderboards really isn’t the best way to play for me. Reg tables went much better last month and in general they feel a lot softer. I’m planning on playing mostly them this month with hopefully much better results.

    April

I’m going for week long holiday this month and I have some other plans that prevent me from grinding big volume. Still I will play a bit during that holiday and I will also try to make up the losses and play more when possible. I have studied preflop extensively and I think I know 100bb preflop trees really well. I will continue this work with 150bb and 50bb preflop ranges so that I really know pre as well as possible. I will then dive deeper in to postflop with PLO trainer and courses. I’m still playing mostly on GG but I have added some money to pokerstars and will play there a bit too. I’m thinking off expanding to some euro sites too.

    Volume goals for April

35k hands (at least 30k reg tables hands)

    2+ tourney days > 40 tourneys

25/30 days training 500+ preflop hands with PLO trainer

    Posting here every monday

    Going forward

I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made already in one month. I’m looking forward to what I can achieve in the coming months. I really think that reaching 200PLO is possible in 3-4 months and after that maybe 500PLO this year. Lets hope 🙂 . If just play enough hands and study a lot I know these milestones are possible. I’ve been taking shots at 100PLO reg tables and they feel just as soft as 50PLO and I don’t doubt a second that I couldn’t beat them. The shots have gone so well that I will be playing some more 100PLO this month. Let’s see when the downswing hits 😆

    GL everyone this month💰

Here’s also my tourney graph so far. Most of the tourneys are from March.

I’m on holiday rn so not doing a bigger post this week. Last week I was taking bigger shots at 100plo and they went really well. Gonna continue playing there from now on. I’m also playing tourneys this sunday and will share how the CG and tourneys have gone on next monday 🙂

    GL everyone!!!💰

    Back at it!

This month and these shots at 100PLO has gone really well. My bankroll has grown enough that I feel comfortable to play 100PLO and the games are feeling as soft as 50plo. Going to grind much more this week and especially next month.

I didn’t study much last week and played only a bit so I’m gonna post my results for the whole month. I’ve played an even mix at gg and stars and I’m feeling good about those sites and games there. I’m also going to play the scoop plo low main event and will try to satellite to the medium one so this weekend will be full of tourneys.

Going to continue grinding with a lot of focus and will keep my daily study routine going on. Gotta try to get more hours on theory studying as that is still the part that lacks most.

I’ll update on the tourneys next monday. Let’s hope they go well! GL to everyone this week!! 💰

    Hello!

I’m still continuing to play 100PLO and mostly reg tables. Games have been good especially on stars. I’ve started to think that GG isn’t really that soft anymore. During happy hours the games are filled with decent regs and the reg to rec ratio is really high. Then at stars during late in my evening the games are much softer. Stars limit to only 4 reg tables is a good and a bad problem there as it limits the multitabling regs so the games are softer but then you can’t really play decent volume with only the 4 reg tables. I’ve played a table of zoom on the side and it has worked out pretty well.

The rungood at these games has made me slack on theory which is a focus point for me this week. I’m not on the level yet at which I feel confident to play a lot of volume to win as much as possible so I gotta keep on the study grind still. 100plo is a stake where winning a lot of money is starting to be very impactful IRL so I’m planning to grind 100plo longer and not shot take that fast. First I want to be confident enough in my game and in the fact that I’m winning here and then I will be playing much more to get the benefits from leaderboards and other bonuses.

So back to the theory grind this week. This month I’ve played a lot less volume then would be optimal but I had a few good reasons to take a break from poker. Luckily next month should be much more free for focused playing.

Also played tourneys last weekend including the scoop plo main low and finished 80th in that. That tourney felt really good. I played on point and it felt like I have a good edge here. Still managed to lose about 900usd in buyins during saturday and sunday as I really tried to grind the satellites for 1k plo main and ran bad there. Probably shot taking a bit too hard there 😆. Tourney grind is nice but it is really toxic for my sleep schedule so a proper grind day usually takes at least a day to recover. Not planning on playing too many tourneys next month anymore because of that.

    Lets finish April strong! 💰

God damn I was just about to post but then the message disappeared. Tilting

Well anyway what I was saying is that I really feel confident about my game after playing for two months. I’ve won with a decent sample and I am really starting to figure out what games and routines work best for my. I have a really nice morning playing and studying routine and a great way to take notes when playing. I now know that fastfold games arent the best for me. I have played a bunch of volume at gg rush tables with poor success. I was trying to chase the LB too much and ended up losing a lot before RB and and still a bit with RB. It also feels much better for my mental side to feel the edge clearly at reg tables then to hope to be winning after RB at the fastfold tables.

    May

Last month was a bit hectic with my break and other happenings so didn’t manage to play that much during it. This month tho I have much less stuff going on so I will be keeping a much steadier focus to poker and will try to really level up my game.

I’m planning on playing 55k hands this month with under 5k hands at fast fold tables. This means that I really have to plan my session and focus on playing. Can’t just hop on fastfold tables if I feel like it.

Going to keep posting here about weekly and if I feel like it then more often also.

Still gonna tinker with my study routines. I am finishing the 10wt this month and after that I will start to search for another in depth series here. Studying preflop daily feels amazing for my game. I think it really has leveled up my understanding of PLO big time so I will be doing that still

Exciting times indeed. GL to everyone this month💰

    Hello guys!

Last week was great. I’m still playing 100plo regularly and games have gone well. There has been some changes to my schedule for the month so I’m not trying to play the planned 55k hands but maybe something close to 30k.

I also played some tourneys yesterday and managed to run deep in a few stars 109 tourneys. Those can be very juicy indeed. The omania 109 had a 3k overlay with 12k gtd and 9k collected so a lot of value there also.

Gonna keep on playing the same way this week. We’ll see if I could shot take 200plo in a few weeks.

Here are my results so far from this month

You seem to be doing great, well done. I’m far behind in terms of stake level but I like the consistency of your blog and progress reports, will follow. GL at the tables and with your ambitious but very exciting goal!

Been taking this month much easier. I now have basically the only opportunity to take a break with my gf for a while so been doing that.

100plo has gone absolutely great so far. It really has helped to step away from gg and play more on stars and the same thing with zoom vs reg tables. I’ve taken some shots at 200plo but they haven’t gone that well so far. I always try to take the best shot possible in terms of game selection. I had a few good spots last week but I ran pretty badly there.

I havent studied too much this month. I’m starting to feel it when playing. I feel less confident and less prepared to play. It really showcases the importance of consistent studying and work for me. Still I am satisfied with my efforts this month and I’m happy that I’ve taken the break.

Here are my results from this month so far. I’ve lost about 1,4k in 200PLO shots over 1k hands so the rest which is 100plo has gone well.

Very nice read to follow. Inspiring also. I know what you mean with study and confidence. I have been playing more than studying and I start to feel it at the tables.

Well done sir, keep it up.

      Thanks man!

Yeah I now what you mean. I have found that if I even do a few hundred hands of preflop spots with the trainer I can boost that confidence up even if I’m not studying that much. Still really important to study theory too

    Hello guys!

I’m getting back to my regular groove after a few chill months. The break was great but I was already itching to get back.

First lets look at the past few months:

So I have played poker solely for the past three months and the results have been surprisingly good. I managed to land few nice tourney scores which boosted my bankroll when I was really needing the boost. Also I took shots at 100plo at the beginning of april and managed to win a bunch there. After that I started to mostly play 100plo and have continued to win with a good winrate. 100PLO has felt really good and beatable. I’m really happy with my cash game results.

Volume wise I played almost 90k hands in the past 3 months with about half of that during march and half after. I also played 133 tourneys pretty evenly spread across the last 3 months. I’m satisfied with volume especially considering I took it pretty chill during the past two months. I’m planning to crank the monthly volume up to 50k per month from now on. I think it is pretty sustainable if I organize my days well

Studying has been the biggest problem I have had. I don’t think I’ve watched a theory video in over a month. It has been hard to motivate myself to watch theory workshops or videos in the past few months when I haven’t had that much time to use on poker. It has always felt more important to use that small amount of time into playing more. Well from now on I will have time so no more excuses to not study.

Plans for the next few months:

So I will be playing a lot more for the next three months. I’m trying to win as much money as possible with reasonable hours during that time. I will be starting the fall semester in September so that is motivating me to play a lot and smart during the summer.

I’m going to play at least 50k hands per month possibly more. I will set that as a hard stop which I have to meet. If I am going to get over it in any given month I can play more or I could play live/play more tournaments.

I will continue with 100plo and a bit 50plo because I’m not yet comfortably rolled for 100plo because I have cashed out some money for living. I’m planning on grinding 100plo until I can withdraw enough money to live on for the rest of the summer and a bit for savings too. After that I will start to move to 200plo if the games are feeling and looking good.

I’m going to update here at least weekly but possibly more. I’m also going to start to look at more theory spots and database leaks and will share some of my findings here.

GL everyone! Lets crush the summer!💰

Here are some of my results from the past few months. Tourneys are from this year and cash is last month, march-may all stakes and march-may 100plo

First week really getting back to it.

Games went fine. Last week was mostly just getting back to the groove of playing more and getting some solid routines. I played 9k hands and 10k was my goal so not bad at all. I did practice preflop hands and reviewed some spots I played but I didn’t do too much of in depth theory work. That just feels like a drag so I need to find a routine that makes it more fun

Also I played some HU last week and it went fine, lost a bit in EV for about 1k hands but managed to run almost 1k below EV. HU seems like an interesting challenge. I was thinking of getting deeper in to the HU streets at some point this summer.

6max games went well. I still feel very solid playing and rarely feel that I do big mistakes. I am really seeing all the work I’ve put in in the past 3 months

    GL to everyone this week!!
