From 100euro BR to 10k long time Pokerplayer starting again having already 1,2k
Hi guys,
My name is David im 30 years old, from Vienna and i am playing poker since my 16th birthday ^^.
I broke up school in my teens and started a apprentice at Siemens so i could go with my first salary and my fake ID to a live poker casino.(now i know that this was a very bad life changing idea but as a teen the bad dangerous things always amazed me)
I was gettin hooked to nl holdem from Pokerstrategy.com and the first 50$ and the shortstack strategy at the age of 15. This was 15years ago and 15 years ago nobody asked for ID on PS.de.
So i went with my 420 euro salary to Pokerworld a live pokercasino in vienna which no longer exist and crushed the live nl200 there (running also good) but the games where ultra juicy and you just had to play tight and value bet your way through.
I made a lot of money playing live poker these days but spend also big parts of this money because in my teens i was a heroin addict.(never junking it in my whole life only taking it nasal)
3-4 years later i made the transition to online poker again on win2day (a austrian only poker plattform) There i made also 30k and there was also my way to Potlimit Omaha.
Nobody could play the game really well then and I learned it practically myself. Since then i fell in love with the complexity of the game compared to NL holdem.
I was always winning in poker in my life and made like 500 euro cash ins in total my whole life and grinding me up from micros to small stakes.
But still my main problem where always drugs and the laziness that you have when youre high.
Never played enough hands because being high was always better …….for my young mind at least.
But now i want to change no more excuses stopped taking any drugs at all just smoking cigarrets.
No more excuses for not putting in the volume and no more drugs ……they fucked my whole life and carrer opportunities.
So i started playing on Win2day 2 months ago cashing in 100euro and i am now at 1,3k. Got a long downsing something like 150k hands long playing every day 500-600hands/h 6hours minimum.
Also i was shot taking to early for plo50 wich i stopped now playing plo20 only.( Also the games on this site are very soft and the rake is 2,5% 3bb max on every stake)
Before i was very arrogant and i only got 1 friend who also plays poker i was playing with him in the live omaha cash games 2/2 in montesino card casino in vienna 7years ago. We where making our own shortstack strategy and crushed the game until we decided because a second blind was added that we shove DS rundowns also the low one. ( I know now that this was stupid)
Then my friend went broke and had to leave vienna since he was from germany.
Now i dont want to be arrogant or anything at all anymore doesnt matter if im playing poker near to 15 years. I told myself i want to learn i want to evolve get better and i really want to reach my goal of becoming a professional poker player.
I will sacrifice all the time in my life for it now(just some free time to take some drinks with friends)
And yes i decided to join the mastermind and i dont regret 1$ spend on it. Love the content guys and i am crushing through it writting everything down on Paper because i think i will remeber it better when doing so. And yes i already get the first results with the protected checking range involved in my game. But im not grinding mutch at the moment because i shifted near to all the time into learning evolving my game.
So i got my accountability sheet and reach near to everyday my goals but the most important one is to not be lazy and not think about drugs or take them and i think poker and the dream of going PRO is the most important thing that keep me from going on drugs again.
So yes this was a quick summary of my pokerlife (life) and yes greetings to all the mastermind memebers and coaches thanks for the good content Love it and it will help me massiv in reaching my dream thanks guys really.
I will share once every few days my achievments and results in poker and post also some hands soon. Everyone who read thx and have a good grind and i hope for you guys that the next Downswing is long away and the never ending heater is coming xD keep on crushing
(BR 1,2k last 3day going on Downswing again loosing 500euro gettin it in good all the time and gettin sucked but i think you know how the great game can be sometimes but this were only about 10k hands so 😉 also i got my 31th birthday tomorrow and i will focus on learning now again and playing only to applie some concepts of the mastermind to my game 1-2k hands per day/learning 5hours every day)
So im now at the SRPots IP in the content and also learning some 5card because i think this game will be big in the future and grinding through the shortstack Bootcamp because i think its crucial to know how to play against the shorties espacially in the micros. Goal of the week is to finish the 6max theory and get to the small stakes courses.

Well damn, this was such a good read and man what a story! Sounds like you have had a proper rollercoaster to get here, but not wanting to sound patronising super proud of you man. Welcome on board, I am glad to read that you are turning everything around for the better. Really appreciate you sharing your story with the good and bad and how you’re learning from it and using it to motivate you, it’ll be inspiring for a lot of people to show that you can go through a lot of ups and downs and still come out the other side with a positive outlook.
