    Hi

    About me:

Im Eivind, 33 years from Norway. I have a full time job working for a handball club. Because of Covid, I have more time to play and study poker.

I started playing poker 15 years ago and its been a big part of my life ever since. I lived in Malta and Spain and played full time for 1 year when i was young, after that mostly as a hobby. I made a switch from holdem to 5 card omaha 3 years ago when that became very popular on the apps in Norway. After beeing a small winner/break even holdem player, I have had success in the 5 card omaha games.

I think the transition to 4 card omaha online can be brutal, I know the 5 card games in Norway is way more soft then on the online sites. I have pretty much no experience working with solvers, pokerstrackers or studying GTO theory.

    My goals/visions:

    – The most important is to find the right balance in life.

    – I want to learn how to work effective with Pokersoftware like HM3, PLO trainer and monker solver

    – I want to make enough money in poker to invest in real estate, and then generate a monthly income that are the same as a normal salary. Giving me the freedom to do what ever I want later in life 🙂

I will start out with a deposit of 20k on GGpoker and play PLO200. If im getting crushed from the start, I will go down in stakes. First of all I will go through the 10 week PLO tranformation and then dive into the PLO trainer.

Updates will come when I have started to play.

    Thnx for the read

    Eivind

Just had my first session on PLO200 on GGpoker. Have som problems with the hand history, but looking forward to a session review in HM3 when thats fixed. Had a sunrun playing 4 tables and a almost 2k profit for the 5 hour session.

Top motivated for week three of the PLO transformation.

The graph for the firs session. Haf to work more on my preflop game, I dont know what hands I should play in what position. Its a big different from PLO 5 card 8 max. I have problems getting my VPIP over 15, forcing myselft to play hands im not comfortable with yet.

    Hey Eivind,

How have you been finding the 10 week transformation so far?

Looks like the transition into 4 Card PLO has been going well for you so far (I responded to your email earlier so we can get you all set up with the preflop helper in Discord to help you work further on your preflop game) However, if you haven’t already i’d definitely check out the PLO Trainer as this is also a great tool to dive deep into preflop study. You can check out the tutorials and download the software here: https://plomastermind.com/courses/plo-trainer/

Best of luck with the goals and keep up the good work.

Look forward to reading further updates from you 🙂

Good luck to you to Sekki24 !

I realy like the 10 week transformation course Adelaney! Looking forward to try some deep study. I think I will spend a long time on week 3, everything is new. I haf to google translate a lot of the poker expression just to understand what his talking about 😀

I saw your email. If I can do the same work in the PLO trainer, I wil definitely chech it out ! I Saw some videos on the PLO trainer beta last night.

Still running good. Was waiting for the discord to be fixed before going further on the studies and played a session instead.

Sry about the awfull english, takes to long to transelate and google 🙂

Its been a good week. I really like the PLO trainer. Have worked on my preflop game and tried out the quizzes. The more I work, more questions comes to mind. I know understand that this will be a life time study 🙂

Just finished my first 10k hands. I have noticed some spots specically that I want to work more on the upcoming days.

Let me know if there are any stats I should take a look into. What should my postflop agg% be ?

      Hi Eivind,

Awesome blog – will be subscribing to see how this conversion goes, I played a bunch of 5 card on stars and it seemed to curve out from when it was first introduced it was unreal how bad people are to now it is much more nitty and reg filled!

How have you found playing on GG – are the regular tables filling up quickly? Considering playing some on there and would prefer to play regular vs zoom to kick things off!

        Hi Lichu348

I played some on stars 5card, but there where not enough action. 4card is a different game. There are still alot of action on the app pokerrr2 where I played 5 card. I think my winrate will be much higher in those games, but i choose to try out PLO200 to learn the basic and become a better player by study the game. Its 15 years to late, but I will give it a go 🙂

The tables are filling up quickly, but there are a lot of the same grinders on all tables.

I need to find out if I can beat the game in the long run. I built a good bankroll playing part time, so I have the option to quit my job and play full time 1-2 years if I decide to do that in the future. Covid makes it possible to play and study 30-50 hours insted of 15 pr week.

Im not happy with my game the last week. I still run good, but makes to many mistakes. The biggest mistakes I make is in 3bet pots OOP. Im going to look into it, but the feeling is that my cbet% is to high and I commit myself with -ev or I just give up on turn if the good players float me on the flop. I think some coaching sessions on this topic would be really valuable. I want to learn everyhing at once, and find it frustrating at times when I dont. Its a jungel of information out there, so im looking for the right coach to help my organize og make a plan for the months to come.

The balance between poker, work, sleep, training and a healty diett is not where it should be. Poker is taking to much of my time latly, so next week I need to focus more on getting healty and get a normal rhythm again.

I have put in to many hours. The focus is not good, and I do alot of mistakes. I played 6 tables to get in to the top 10 leaderboard. I haf to go down and play 4 tables again and take breaks. I havnt been focusing on work, sleep and a healty diett like I told myself to do.

    Not playing tomorrow.

Long time since last update. Mainly played PLO200, but have taken some shoots on higher stakes. Some problems with the motivation. I hoped to be able to focus on poker, but the normal job is taking more time then I hoped.

Im up around 10k with rakeback the first month. The Screenshot is from GGpoker and does not include the rake.

Its back to old rutines where I play way more then I study. The only reason I moved from 5 to 4 card PLO was so I could improve on the game by studying. Im in contact with a coach, but I dont think ist a good fit.

I started using the PLO trainer, its a great tool! Just have to find the time to really dive in and use it.

I have been thinking of quitting my job and move abroad for a long time. The last years I have been winning dobble in poker then what I get payed at work. I have 2 months to decide, but first I haf to find out if I beat the PLO200 game over time so I can move up i stakes. Need 10-15k avarage pr. month.

I just reached the 100k hand mark. I started out playing PLO200 4cards in January, and now im playing PLO1k 5 cards.

Its been some ups and downs and most of the profit you see in the graph have gone to rake. Im up around 10k and think im improving day by day. Have been waiting for some 5 card release here on mastermind 🙂

From 28.June I have 1 year off work to play poker. To improve and find like-minded people im thinking of moving abroad. Im getting old in the pokerworld, so this is my last chance to do it 100%

Im waiting for the vaccine, and like the summer here in Norway. So from August im ready to move.

Like all sports, but now its Tennis, paddeltennis, Badminton, handball and volleyball I play as hobbies. Dreaming of moving a place that is warm, but are open for everthing. The most important thing is the other players. If you are serious about poker and are thinking of moving, let me know 🙂
